An R&D macro-project carried out in close conjunction with Suez Environnement has resulted in the creation of Aquadvanced, an innovative, modular tool that comprehensively optimises key performance indicators (KPI) in the drinking water network (flow, pressure, quality) using advanced hydraulic network supervision sensors in real time. The end result is leak deduction and prediction, together with continuous water quality management.

With European LIFE+ funding, coordinated by Cetaqua with major participation from Aigües de Barcelona, Pentair and Dow Chemical, the aim of the UFTEC project is to use direct ultrafiltration instead of conventional pre-treatment (normally consisting of coagulation/flocculation, decantation and sand filtration) in the treatment of surface water for drinking. After three years’ development and having demonstrated the project’s technical, environmental and economic effectiveness, it has been successfully brought to completion and the results are now being assessed.

Funded by the EU Seventh Framework Programme, the CORFU project aims to improve global management of urban flooding in the future. The impact of flooding in urban areas (potential number of deaths, damage to infrastructure and health problems) and possible responses will be assessed, defining the different scenarios of the main factors involved: urban development, socioeconomic trends and climate change. The CORFU consortium includes the Beijing University of Technology, DHI, Cetaqua, Hyds, the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, the University of Cranfield, the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) of Bangladesh and AIRCUD.

The aim of PIPEGUARD is to develop an inspection method using ultrasound that can calculate sedimentation levels. The data collected will be used to adjust cleaning based on algorithms.
