Aqualogy will carry out the maintenance of San Sebastián’s sewerage network

San Sebastián City Council has entrusted Aqualogy with the management of "Sewerage network cleaning services and the execution of repairs ". This represents a portfolio of over €8m over a period of 4 years with a renewal period of a further 2 years.
The winning proposal was technically the most suitable out of all those submitted (which included the country’s main sewerage network cleaning companies). Sustainability, the technologically advanced focus and transparency were the basic pillars to obtain this award. It was likewise cheaper than that of the current service provider, the company FCC, which has held the contract for more than 35 years.
The temporary joint venture formed by Aqualogy (70%) and Aquagest (30%) thus obtains a very important contract in the Basque Country which will help to introduce Aqualogy’s products and services in this region.
The service begins to be provided on 1 June. The network is 786 kilometres long and has 31,600 wells and manholes, in addition to 28,000 drains. It will likewise provide the necessary support for the maintenance planning (GALIA and GIS) and, among other activities, Aqualogy will inspect the sewerage network using closed circuit television equipment and will be in charge of maintaining the pipes, storm tanks, overflow channels and municipal septic tanks.
