21 March 2017
SUEZ Spain participated in the 100 Corresponsables Conference, a meeting which addressed the keys to responsible communication and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and in which the twelfth edition of the Corresponsables Yearbook in Spain was presented.
During the event, held in the historical Espai Endesa of Barcelona, SUEZ Spain's Director of Sustainable Development, Dulcinea Meijide, stressed that “Spain is one of the countries with the most water scarcity and here we have a huge responsibility as a company to help this to change”. To achieve this, she explained that the company has established a strategy based on four pillars: digitization, innovation, sustainability and social commitment.
Dulcinea Meijide also moderated the workshop “Communication and CSR in SDG 11: sustainable cities and communities”, in which the speakers agreed that cities must be resilient or capable of adapting to the transformations required by sustainability.
In this respect, CETAQUA's ICT, Water Economy and Sustainability Project Manager, María José Amores, maintained that access to water in the cities of the future and the redefinition of the resource consumption model are a priority, and highlighted that "we are working on resilience projects to achieve sustainable cities”.
