Angel Simón: “Our vocation is to provide a comprehensive and sustainable service in the water sector”

The Executive Vice-President of SUEZ in charge of the water activity in Europe, Angel Simón, explained that the company’s objective is a comprehensive provision of services in the water sector. “Our vocation is to provide a comprehensive and sustainable service in the water sector in order to meet any need from this sector, both in agriculture and in municipalities or the private sector”, he stated during a meeting with Young Spanish Water Professionals which focused on the future of the sector.
During the meeting, which took place this morning in Barcelona, Angel Simón indicated that the company “has already taken a leap from infrastructure management to knowledge management” and added that “it is building the future on the basis of four pillars of transformation: Digital, Innovation, Sustainable and Social (DISS)”. He moreover referred to the changes in the economic system which are leading “toward a circular economy and zero waste world”.
Angel Simón also put forward the idea that cooperation is essential for progress, as water is a sector which opens up to numerous companies, and that the water, energy and food nexus is crucial for fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
For her part, Marina Arnaldos, President of Young Spanish Water Professionals, indicated that the objective of the organization, formed by young professionals, under the age of 35, and students interested in the water sector, is to contribute to the present and future of the water sector.
