SUEZ participated in the Forum “The benefits of peace in Colombia”, organized by PRISA and the Fundación Buen Gobierno in the city of Bogotá (Colombia). The meeting brought together the president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, and representatives from the country’s business sphere.
During the Forum, centred on the challenges and reforms that the country will have to tackle during the post-conflict period, the Latin America Sales Director of SUEZ, Bruno Bastos Oliva, who participated on the round table “The economy in the post-conflict period”, stressed that “the benefits of peace are already being felt today” through an increasing GDP, an improvement in the competitiveness ranking and, in a more practical way, in the type of demand from clients in the water sphere, increasingly focused on productivity and technological modernization.
During the event, Bastos highlighted the desire of SUEZ to meet the needs of Colombia in the current and future context, such as, for example, in adequate use of unexploited resources and an increase in the country’s productive capacity. “We must do this through active participation, leading and promoting projects with value for the country, contributing knowledge and technology for sustainable development”. “Both national and international companies must become integrated in the process of change”, he remarked.
