SUEZ Advanced Solutions will manage seven water towers in Youngstown, in Ohio
04 August 2016
The City of Youngstown’s Water Department, who serves a population of more than 140,000 in Ohio, in the United States, has chosen to enter into a Tank Asset Management Program with SUEZ for their seven water towers.
The asset management program will allow the city’s water department to focus their resources on other areas of their distribution system, knowing that their seven largest assets will be maintained on a yearly basis. The asset management program will include yearly inspections, emergency services, renovation and repair work all making sure that the towers meet all local, state and federal standards, including OSHA, EPA, AWWA, etc.
Through the asset management program, the Youngstown’s Water Department will get a proactive maintenance maintaining of its infrastructure, overcoming the more common “run-to-failure” approach which often results in the need to replace the tanks altogether at a much higher cost. that ends with the tanks needed to be replaced, with a cost that represents more than double.
An annual yearly schedule was created for the city, so they know what to expect on a yearly basis from the SUEZ Tank Asset Management Program. The rehabilitation of the first two tanks to be renovated will take place this summer.
