Suez Water Spain joins Forética’s Transparency, Good Governance and Integrity committee
14 July 2016
Suez Water Spain has joined the Transparency, Good Governance and Integrity Cluster of Forética, the leading association of companies promoting CSR and sustainability. This business meeting point is created with the aim of transferring worldwide trends, generating knowledge, collaborating with political actors and opinion leaders and developing a position of leadership in this field. In particular, this year the cluster will work to analyze the implication for companies of transposition of the European Directive as regards disclosure of non-financial information and the new Good Governance Code of the CNMV.
Forming part of the group, which currently has 33 big Spanish or Spanish-based companies, entails meeting a series of requirements: having a reporting, good governance or crime prevention system infrastructure as a company; publishing, at least annually, on transparency, good governance and integrity; and designating a stable contact on the level of director and/or sustainability, compliance or investor relations manager.
SUEZ Water Spain moreover participated in the second meeting of Forética’s Climate Change Cluster, composed of 36 companies. After sharing international climate change trends, the group analyzed the implications of establishing a carbon price and presented the Cluster’s agenda and activities to the main actors from the environmental sector in Spain.
Forética is the leading association of corporate social responsibility/sustainability companies and professionals in Spain and Latin America. The mission of the body, which has over 200 members, is to encourage the integration of social, environmental and good governance aspects into the strategy and management of companies and organizations. Forética is Spain’s only representative on the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and, therefore, constitutes the Spanish Business Council for Sustainable Development.
SUEZ Water Spain’s participation in this association’s Transparency and Climate Change Clusters forms part of its strategic commitment to ethical management and its contribution to sustainable development in the communities in which it is present.
