Aquatec will perform the energy audit of the Contraparada (Murcia) Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP)
08 June 2016
Aquatec will perform the energy audit of the Contraparada Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP) belonging to Emuasa, in order to comply with RD 56/2016 on energy efficiency. This award was the result of a public tender process under market technical and financial conditions.
The company will thus identify and analyze the equipment which represents a higher percentage of the facility’s consumption, with the aim of proposing improvements geared toward minimizing energy consumption. These actions do not represent a reduction in the productivity of the facilities, but rather are aimed at optimizing energy consumption.
For this, a qualified energy auditor from Aquatec will take measurements in the DWTP facilities at the consumption points in order to obtain the operating point of the machines and be able to suggest improvement actions.
These measurements consist of measuring the flow, pressure and electric parameters of the energy consuming equipment, pumps and compressors, which represent the highest percentage of consumption in drinking water treatment facilities. For this, Aquatec has a set of portable measuring devices which are correctly calibrated and verified, and which provide measurements with a high degree of reliability.
