#KDAY2015: Knowledge day brings together the knowledge network of SUEZ Water Spain
06 November 2015
The Knowledge Day “The value of ideas” brought together more than 200 people yesterday in the Ágora space of the Museu Agbar de les Aigües. This conference is one of the various corporate initiatives connecting people and once a year bringing together representatives of the group’s knowledge management network.
Six years ago the company backed a cultural change which has now become a reality: innovation, knowledge management, sustainable development and excellence in the management of concessions are the pillars on which the company is based. In this respect, Suez Water Spain’s Director of Strategy and Development, Manuel Cermerón, explained yesterday that the initiative of “knowledge management began as and continues to be a tool of transformation. We started with the philosophy that people are the axis”. The third conference showed the work that has been done in recent years in collaborative work environments. “We have taken advantage of the change of headquarters to try to bring about different dynamics”, explained Manuel Cermerón.
For his part, Aigües de Barcelona’s Director General, Ignacio Escudero, in charge of closing the conference, stressed that “sustainable development is not a project with a beginning and an end, but rather a strategic and cultural change”. The Director of Innovation and Knowledge, Maria Salamero, reviewed the company’s advances in innovation and pointed out that knowledge is part of the innovation process.
The conference also included the talk “Radical is normal” by the President of Infonomía, Alfons Cornella, who explained that the distance between normal and radical has been reduced to almost nothing. According to Alfons Cornella, “the future can be positive or negative depending on whether we understand that the key is to be more human: knowledge, empathy and imagination”.

During the morning the different managers presented various initiatives on Domains, Communities of Practice, RDI projects and from various departments of the group, demonstrating what ideas have arisen and been developed this year. The 90 presentations were carried out in eight different spaces simultaneously and the attendees could choose which they wanted to attend.
K-Day could moreover be followed by streaming from the CREA space of the Ciutat de l’Aigua and from the offices of Aguas Andinas in Santiago de Chile.
