Suez Water Spain supports the launch of Ôasys on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform
28 September 2015
The Ôasys device, an innovative domestic water control tool developed by the start-up of the same name promoted by Suez Water Spain, was launched on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform. The aim is to raise between €50,000 and €100,000 in order to start production of this tool.
Ôasys is a device designed to change the relationship between water and the client, making it more interactive and sensorial. It consists of a disc-shaped touchscreen, easy to place anywhere in the home, which shows infographics of the household’s daily water use.
This mechanism helps people to save water, providing real-time information on their daily consumption thanks to a sensor developed in-house which can easily be installed in the home. Users can moreover compare the information received with that of the previous week, know the level of water reserves in their region and establish goals and challenges, among other possibilities.
Ôasys was created last year at the Imagine Creativity Center in Silicon Valley, where 12 inventors from around the world were invited to solve various global challenges. The idea for the product arose specifically from a challenge raised by Suez Water Spain: change the relationship between the client and water.
Suez Water Spain backed the idea proposed by the team responsible for the project and made the initial capital investment necessary to incorporate more talent and transform the device into a real product. This initial investment converted Ôasys into what it is now: a functional prototype with practically all its features intact. Now established in Barcelona, in the start-up Ôasys, the development team has been strengthened with Heywood & Sons and other specialists.
With the launch of the campaign on Kickstarter, it is intended to enhance Ôasys with additional functionalities, put the finishing touches to the product and make it a reality.
