AQUALOGY BRAZIL OBTAINS TWO CONTRACTS WITH THE COUNTRY'S MAIN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
03 October 2012
Aqualogy Brazil has won two contracts with Foz do Brazil, a subsidiary of the Odebrecht group, Brazil’s leading construction company. Specifically, Aqualogy will implement a geographic information system (GIS) at the Foz concessions and will analyse the company’s energy purchasing model.
Aqualogy will implement SIG, a geographic information system developed by the company itself, at the main Foz concessions in Brazil, with a total of 1,500,000 inhabitants. With this contract, Foz will adopt the Aqualogy solution as its standard for geographic information systems, offering excellent growth prospects associated with Foz do Brazil itself, which already manages 6.3 million inhabitants.
At the same time, an energy efficiency project has been agreed upon, in which Aqualogy specialists will analyse the energy purchasing model at Foz’s current concessions, perform energy audits at the 20 largest facilities to identify areas for improvement and propose a new energy model adapted to the country’s situation. This contract is a pilot project and aims to demonstrate the benefits of continuous energy management in order to extend the model to other Foz concessions.
The two contracts have a rough implementation schedule of six months, and both represent the possibility of opening new lines of business in Brazil, as they are the first contracts of their kind to be tendered in the country. They also represent the first international references for both products, outside the Agbar group’s normal area of business.
