DOORS OPEN AT THE PALENCIA WATER MUSEUM, DEVELOPED BY AQUALOGY KNOWLEDGE
28 September 2012
The Palencia Water Museum opened its doors for the first time on 3 September, during the festivities of San Antolín. During his inaugural visit, the mayor, Alfonso Polanco, stressed the importance of making such unique equipment available to Palencia, to which successive municipal corporations have contributed for over a decade.
Although the entire exhibition complex will not be completed until October, more than 800 people were able to see first-hand the audiovisual content that will form the new museum's permanent exhibition. The open day exceeded visitor expectations, and a second extraordinary open day has been scheduled for the 9th.
The museographic project for the new equipment, located next to the dock of the Canal de Castilla in Palencia, was developed by Aqualogy Knowledge, and provides insights into water from both a local and global point of view, by taking a stroll through the traditional uses of Palencia water up to future water management challenges, in the context of smart cities.
Aqualogy Knowledge was also awarded the management of the activities to revamp the museum over the next two and a half years, including educational programs for school visits, visits by the general public and temporary exhibitions each year.
