CETAQUA, STAR OF THE UNITED NATIONS PUBLICATION BUSINESS AND CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION
22 June 2012
CETaqua is the first of the 10 cases analysed in the United Nations publication Business and Climate Change Adaptation, published to coincide with the Rio+20 summit. Specifically, the study highlights the knowledge acquired by CETaqua regarding the impact that climate change and other global trends will have on the availability of water resources and the risk of flooding, and how best to develop innovative technologies that could be used to ensure a sustainable water cycle.
The study explains CETaqua’s efforts in managing water resources, by designing methods and tools to model the impact of global change, to calculate the future impact and propose and assess adaptation measures. It also presents CETaqua’s developments to improve flood risk management, studying the adaptability of cities and infrastructure and proposing adaptation measures for future flooding.
The publication Business and Climate Change Adaptation focuses on 10 cases that illustrate how companies innovatively respond to anticipate and act in the light of the opportunities, risks and impacts involved in climate change. The study presents cases in which the companies respond to challenges in real life, to support sustainable development.
