AQUALOGY ENVIRONMENT SETS UP A NEW LINE OF SERVICES TARGETING THE SEA AND BEACH SECTOR
19 June 2012
Aqualogy Environment has set up Marine and Coastal Services, a new line of services launched to complete the Water Quality solution. This new line, with Clara Rovira as Product Manager, and the new area for the management of the ports market will promote Aqualogy’s positioning in the sea and beach sector, thus closing its leadership in the complete water cycle.
The comprehensive beach offer is the first product launched by the line to ensure the environmental and sanitary quality of beaches in coastal towns. This offer, an example of the integration of diverse services in the Aqualogy portfolio tailored to the needs of the end customer, includes a beach quality monitoring programme (water, sand and showers) implemented according to a schedule or as an emergency service for pollution episodes; the COWAMA system (for preventive bathing water quality management, management of public information and alerts); the cleaning and collection of floating solids from the sea; water- and energy-saving showers; the implementation and/or maintenance of management and environmental certification systems; and environmental education.
Currently, COWAMA has been or is being implemented in 11 coastal towns on the Mediterranean and in the Canary Islands. The module that is receiving attention from the tourist resorts is the real-time management and publication of information on the beaches in several media, such as websites, screens located on the beaches themselves or the new iBeach smartphone app.
