ANGEL SIMÓN: “WE HAVE SOLUTIONS FOR ANY TECHNICAL PROBLEM IN THE WORLD OF WATER”
13 March 2015
During the presentation of the Water School’s diplomas, held in the Agbar Tower, the Chairman of Aqualogy, Angel Simón, stressed today that the company has the knowledge and technology to confront any challenge in the sphere of water. The Chairman stated that governance plays an essential role to solve the global challenges of the future.
“We are in a fluid world, in which decision-making is complex. In this changing environment, all decisions must be focused on carrying out our activity in a transversal, collaborative and technology-based manner”, he explained.
During his intervention, he stressed the concepts of sustainable development and the circular economy, which he referred to as an unstoppable trend, and which have already formed part of Aqualogy’s activities and decision-making for some time.
The water professional
“We want the best professionals to come to work with us, with commitment and a passion for water”, explained Angel Simón, who highlighted that the Water School allows the company to “manage knowledge” and that one of its priorities is to “detect and retain talent”. The Chairman of Aqualogy expressed his satisfaction for the progress made on having incorporated professional training and industrial Ph.D. students into the Water School’s programme of courses.
New building, new way of working
Angel Simón explained that the transfer to the new corporate headquarters (Paseo de la Zona Franca, 48) is a decision that was taken some time ago. “Buildings are instruments which do not represent business activity and, in our case, we have sought an alternative to show our transversality, transparency and commitment to people.
Benchmarks for knowledge on water and the environment
The Group’s Director of Strategy and Development, Manuel Cermerón, stressed that, with the Water School, Aqualogy wants to continue to be a benchmark for knowledge on water and the environment, and reviewed its history and background, which go back to 2005 with the creation of the Master of Water.
In today’s event, the Water School’s students received the diplomas from the different programmes they have studied. Some of them explained their projects, such as the use of Smart Glasses to read meters and other business processes.
