The plant has an industrial water physicochemical treatment capacity of 80,000 m3/month; it employs DAF separation technology and sludge dewatering.

The process water is used in the metallurgical plant for the recovery of copper and molybdenum.

The design for the El Peñon mining company involved a processing line at a blackwater treatment plant, capable of treating a generated wastewater load equivalent to 500 persons (75 m3/day).The plant, built in FRP (fibreglass) reservoirs, includes the aerating, sedimentation, sludge digestion and disinfection stages.

Design, construction, commissioning and monitoring of process water, waste treatment and reclamation plants to supply the process with high-quality water.

These plants combine filtration, membrane and sulphate removal technologies to ensure high performance in terms of clean water production and compliance with quality standards. The project has two treatment lines: the first is for the production of 300 m³/day of technological water, with a rejection flow of less than 6% of the input water; and the second is for 100 m³/day of rejected water, which is reused in the process.

Design and construction of three treatment plants for effluents from copper and zinc mines. The plants have been designed to neutralise acid mine drainage at three different points, with flows of 14,000 m³/day, 6,000 m³/day and 9,000 m³/day.
All the plants will ensure the correct return of effluent to the environment, with the last one also being capable of reusing water in the metallurgic process.

Aqualogy conducts studies of the water balances of facilities and prepares proposals for the optimisation and reduction of water consumption in production plants.

Its comprehensive vision of the water cycle and its vast experience in this field enable Aqualogy to take into account not only the internal water treatment plants of the facilities but also the efficiency of the water networks (pressure control, leak detection, smart metering, sectorisation, NRW, pipe cleaning, etc.), sludge management, energy consumption and chemical reagents. All this allows it to issue a full water-energy diagnosis of the situation and propose actions to increase the efficiency of existing water infrastructure and optimise costs.

ELECTROCOAGULATION AND ELECTROOXIDATION

Electrocoagulation generates coagulating ions, on site, using iron or aluminium sacrificial anodes. This technology is especially designed for mining wastewater with a metal content that requires single-step precipitation, is not pH dependent and is subject to strict environmental control. It is mainly applicable to water from mine entrances, process water, etc.

The electrooxidation of pollutants is achieved by direct or indirect contact with the anode using oxidants generated during the electrolytic process. This technology is especially applicable to water with high refractory COD content or the presence of disruptive pollutants.

In both cases, it is compact technology that takes up very little space.
