Cetaqua’s centre network model is based on collaborative research, combining the efforts of the private, public and academic spheres. Cetaqua is a network of non-profit foundations that integrates, manages and executes research projects in the complete water cycle with the aim of proposing innovative solutions to companies, governments and society in general.

The Cetaqua centre network has three offices in Spain and one in Chile, which is currently being developed. The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is a member of the Board of Trustees in all the centres. The presence of a local university (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech, University of Santiago de Compostela, University of Malaga and, in the future, Federico Santa María Technical University, in Chile), and one or more local businesses in each case (Aigües de Barcelona, Viaqua, Hidralia, Aguas Andinas and Aqualogy Chile) connects us to local talent, by which we take on a territorial commitment.

Cetaqua works through a multidisciplinary team, fostering R&D in the fields of water resources, wastewater treatment, real-time control, water quality, energy, information and communication technologies, sustainability and water economy.

Our future challenge is to continue generating knowledge, solutions and high added-value products and to continue expanding the Cetaqua model to position ourselves as an international benchmark.
